walking-570119_12802We know that the world is transitory and there is nothing worthwhile in it, for our Lord is THE TRUE ONE and it is He who gives us all that we need. Many times we hear that it is necessary to be careful with our choices, because they can affect the rest of our lives. We also hear that we need to listen to the voice of our beloved Lord at every moment, to be sensitive to the Spirit and to call upon His name. However, we know that our flesh is slow to change, and we have a constant battle to overcome.

Questions may come up: what if I fall? What if I sin? What do I do? I have always heard the sweet Words of my Lord during my whole life and, now, after all this, I still fall? I still sin? There are things in the world that I am attracted to? Why does this happen?

Young one, this happens because we are humans and, in the world, indeed there are things that attract our sinful nature, and the enemy is constantly trying to cause us to sin against God, for he knows that our future is to reign with the Lord. We are going to govern the world to come – we are going to have what he always wanted (Heb. 2:5-8). Satan knows that his time is running out and, therefore, does his best to cause us to fall.

So, what should we do? Purify our conscience day by day. How? John wrote: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1). Many times, when we feel the rebuke of the Spirit, shortly after this, the accuser comes to condemn us (Rev. 12:10). However, remember that repentance comes from God, leading to life, but accusation comes from Satan, leading to death. We have the blood of Christ that washes us from every sin (1 John 1:7), so do not let the enemy accuse you and condemn you, saying you do not deserve the forgiveness of God and that you belong in the depths below.

There is a spiritual authority inside you that can quieten the devil! (Matt. 18:18) The blood of Jesus is powerful! He can and he wants to forgive you! Otherwise,  His death on the cross would have been for no purpose. (Phil. 2:8)

But young one, do not deceive yourself thinking that now you can sin freely and then just simply cleanse yourself with Jesus’ blood. It doesn’t work like that! Forgiveness comes from confessing and repenting. (1 John 1:9). If there is no repentance,  how could it have forgiveness? If you keep doing the same things and thinks: “Oh, it is only a matter of applying the blood after” you are not valuing what Christ did for you. Our repentance must be an effective one!

And how do we know if God forgave us? It is simple! You will feel inner peace and joy. And more, there will be a change of attitude. The Lord will no longer remember your sins, all will be all erased! (Heb. 8:12). “But what if my sin brings serious consequences and it alters God’s plan for my life? What if I cannot rise up again?”.  Young one, did you repent? If yes, the Lord is faithful and just! Do not forget that, after repenting,  everything is forgiven and forgotten. We are not saying there won’t be consequences. That is not it! However, when we turn ourselves to the Lord, there is a transformation! Any cloud of curse will be turned into blessing (Neh. 13:2) and the consequences will help your growth in life. For “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Rom. 8:28)

You know, young one, the Lord did not say you will never fall, yet He said He will always prepare someone to raise you up. Therefore, we only stay down if we choose so! Therefore, do not isolate yourself! Because, by doing so, there will be no one by your side to help you. (Eccl. 4:10)

What about the daily sufferings and disappointments that discourage us through our journey? They are always there, aren’t they? And it looks like the more we consecrate ourselves, the more attacked we are. Maybe we don’t realise, but this is exactly what happens. Often, we do not understand why we go through some situations. We always ask God why there is so much torment and temptation. But there is always a reason – nothing God does is in vain. Everything has a purpose. Believe: if you are going through something like this, it’s in order to make you grow and mature! God needs you to acquire experience so, in the future,  you will be able to help others. Be sure that each situation is necessary, because it is through them we learn to trust more in Him and depend more on our Lord! (1 Pet. 4:12-13).

Jesus is marvelous and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. He knows us completely!  However, be aware: there are necessary sufferings, but there are also the ones you choose to go through. Young one, pay attention to this and be careful with your choices (1 Cor. 10:12-13). Don’t forget what our Lord told us: “My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1). Thus,  if you find yourself in this situation, do not wait! Apply the blood of Jesus immediately and turn yourself to the Lord! Hallelujah!
